OUR MISSION
GLP-1 receptor agonist medications, particularly Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, have been clinically proven to be safe and effective in treating health issues related to chronic overweight and obesity. However, these drugs can be expensive. At BMI TeleMed, our mission is to offer these medications through a comprehensive and cost-effective program, making them accessible to as many patients as possible who would benefit from their use.
OUR MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Edward Pearson received his undergraduate training in Microbiology and Chemistry from the University of Florida, and his medical degree with an Academic Excellence Award from the University of South Florida, College of Medicine.
In the year 2000, Dr. Pearson completed his internship from UC Davis in Sacramento, after which he became a licensed MD. Following his passion in the medical field, Dr. Pearson immediately began to follow his chosen path of becoming a primary care physician putting in the long hours to become competent and proficient as a general practitioner. Like his grandfather who inspired him, he believed more doctors should be skilled in a more general style of healthcare instead of all of those 'specializing' into overly specific fields as is done today. He felt the GP of 'family doctor' of old as his grandfather was had been lost along the way of the traditional specialty and insurance driven healthcare model.
Dr. Pearson, has now become a worldwide expert in the field of truly integrated health care. In both 2004 and 2011, he was certified by the American Board of Integrated & Holistic Medicine. He also went through certification with the Institute of Functional Medicine in 2004 as well and has been a skilled Functional Medicine practitioner for nearly 2 decades.
